“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” – Hebrews 13:8 NLT

Verse for the Day:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” – Hebrews 13:8 NLT

If you are anything like me change is not always the easiest thing to go through. Many times I get so use to doing something a certain way that when it’s changed I have a hard time adjusting. Over the years I have gotten better at handling change because God has forced me to change my thinking by learning to trust him. Always. He has reminded me again and again that though my situations and circumstances may change He will not change—He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

I moved from Ohio to Florida when I was in the first grade. That was a big change. For me. And for my family. I had to start at a new school, in a new town, and make new friends. Thankfully, it happened in elementary school and not middle school or high school. That made the change a little easier, but hard nonetheless. It’s never easy changing schools at any grade level let alone changing states.

A few months after my wife and I got married God called us into youth ministry, which involved changing churches. And it was a drastic change in belief and culture and required total dependence upon God’s unchanging nature.

Know that no matter what changes in life you are facing today, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We serve an unchanging God! He is who He says He is and He never goes back on His Word and His promises!

Because HE is unchanging we can trust Him in the midst of our changing circumstances and situations!

  1. What changes are you facing today?
  2. What changes do you fear? Why?
  3. Are you dependent on God though your situations and circumstances may change?
  4. Do you trust Him “with all your heart” (see Proverbs 3:5)?

Wow this really hit home for me today. CHANGE – I don’t like CHANGE but my life changed drastically about a year ago. Actually the last 7 years have brought nothing but CHANGE. I am learning that God is always with me through this CHANGE – regardless of how I am feeling!
